Writing jobs wanted in Pakistan: Imran Abbas

Model-turned-actor Imran Abbas was at the peak of his career in the 2000s and was seen in various roles in television and drama. But the Tum Kon Piya star has worked in local dramas and international films, rarely appearing in Pakistani films.

In a recent article by Tto Mirza Malik ShowAbbas was asked if he plans to return to Pakistani cinema, to which he replied that the country lacks “good writers.”

“We have seen you in many Bollywood movies, but not in a Pakistani movie, why is that?” co-host Shoaib Malik asked. Hearing this, Abbas quickly corrected him, “I have not acted in a Pakistani film” recently. He continued, “I get a lot of offers; almost 50% of the films you see playing in theaters have their scripts in my box back home. in Pakistan—or maybe I am not worthy enough to be a part of these beautiful pictures.”

Speaking about his upcoming work, Abbas revealed that he has worked on many foreign projects. “None of my films are from Pakistan; one is from America, another is from India, and the other is an Indian-Punjabi film. I like the last film the most because for Punjabi cinema, which is popular all over the world,” he said.

Of the Amanat the actor also appreciated the Punjabi language for its “rich” and “beautiful” qualities. “This language has a rare quality that touches your heart,” he added.

When Malik asked Abbas to choose an actor he would like to work with in the future, he said, “Well, I don’t really enjoy watching television these days but Alia Bhatt is a person. well played. when Madhuri Dixit and Rani Mukerji were called the diva of Bollywood, I still call her a modern actress.”
